We three ladies from Virginia found the perfect guide in Claire Paris. She drove us to a town market giving us tips and making sure we tried all the best of the provence. I can not wait to give out lavender nougat at home but the artisan jam is just for me. Then off to the gorgeous towns in Le Luberon. The hilltop towns Gordes and Roussillon in ocher shades were like the paintings they inspire. Again she suggested a perfect lunch with local meats and cheese and wine. Never had better ice cream. Along the drive she gave us history and talked of local matters. The car comfortable, water to drink and stopping for little towns how much fun. Last stop in Isle sur la Sorgue we found the table linens we had searched for - perfect. She was carefull to pick up and park for our slow walkers so every one enjoyed the tour. A perfect day thanks to Claire whose English is a delight and her thoughtfulness charming. The best of choices for this region. Cheval, Jane and Kay

Hello Claire, Greetings from the US of A. I've not been back one day and I'm ready to return to Provence. What a beautiful place. From the friendly faces to the spectacular scenery to the wonderful food and wine, I've experienced heaven. You've ruined me fille. All I can think about is getting back.

Thank you so much for showing me around. You were the key to making this trip so successful. I know Jimmy and the other guys agree. It's obvious you have a deep felt love for the area and it comes out in your tour. You're a wonderful tour guide and you will be highly successful in it. It should go without saying that I will recommend you to everyone I know traveling through Provence. If you need me to write up a review on a travel website just let me know, I'll gladly do it.

Thanks again Claire, you're awesome.

Au revoir,

Dearest Claire

Next week the Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. The feast when the families get together and eat turkey in many cooking ways.

It commemorates the feast which the first settlers from Europe in America celebrated (the story says) with the Indians in a spirit of reunion and peace. Not having anything else to eat they caught a wild turkey and prepared a feast to thank God for not dying in the cold without food. Well, that is the story, more or less.

I consider it a nice opportunity to give thanks to the people who did something nice for you during the year... and there you are!

You were not only a fantastic and knowledgable guide, but your attitude was more of a cultured cousin taking her relatives to visit fantastic places in Provence. Not many guides make you feel like that. Your patience with us was extraordinary and you smiled and joked with us in a very open way. Here is the proof.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

With the good memories of Provence,

MERCI!!

Bonjour Claire!

Thank you so much for our wonderful days in Provence.   Joe, Emily and I enjoyed every minute of our time with you.   You worked so hard to make our stay perfect - we would never have been able to visit the many beautiful places you showed us without your help.   We appreciate your paying close attention to everything we hoped to see, and including other beautiful sights along the way that we loved.

We were so happy with each of our days, both the pace and the variety of the things we were able to see - we never felt rushed, although we got to experience so much.
We enjoyed your delightful company.

Our only regret was that we were unable to spend more time in beautiful Provence.  We would love to return and see more, and just savor the lovely places we got to visit.

If you ever come to the United States, we'd love to see you - please let us know!

Again, thank you so much for everything - we were so glad to make your acquaintance!
All the best,

Tasmania Island, Australia, July 2013

Hi Claire!

Thank you very much for our 3 days in Provence. I'm looking forward to viewing our photos. Thanks for making my birthday a memorable one.

We look forward to welcoming you when you holiday to Australia, don't forget about us on the little Isle of Tasmania, below mainland Australia.
I'm sure you would enjoy the natural environment and beauty that Tasmania offers even if we can't provide the history that you would be accustomed to.

I'll send you a couple of photos when I have a chance.

A bientot.

Wonderful Day in France

Claire Paris of Travelling Provence met us promptly at theport in Marseille, France to begin our tour. Claire is a very friendly, informative and enthusiastic tour guide.  Our group included 3 adults and 3 teenagers.  I would rate our private tour with Claire asexcellent.

During our tour we were able to see Le village des Bories,Gordes (stone village built in 19th century), the beautiful andquaint villages of Gordes and Roussillon (many nice shops and artist studios), SenanqueAbbey, beautiful lavender fields, the ochre trail, and an old romanbridge.  We thoroughly enjoyed each ofthese sites and would highly recommend Claire from Travelling Provence for a fantastictour in France.
